Papa’s Parenting

It’s not just me who takes care of D’s food requirements, his Papa gives his best too. I am a vegetarian but D’s Papa K, dies for non-vegetarian food. I don’t make non veg at home. Earlier for K, Non-Veg was ordered from outside. But now as D also wants to have non veg, we have to make it home.

So now it’s his Papa’s turn to go to the Kitchen. He gets the chicken, marinates it, and prepares the dish the next day. And I don’t go to the kitchen that time. It’s all on him. The butter chicken prepared is taste full as D savors it a lot. And he enjoys it for at least 2 days with his favorite Naans(Indian bread). Not just him, but my daughter and my niece also relishes that. Every time she come comes, she asks, “K papa apne chicken banaya hai, mere ko taste karva do,” and finishes 2 bowl in tasting it only. Not only butter chicken, many varieties are being tried every weekend, but without me.  One of the best was crème chicken tikka!!!

So the non-vegetarian part is on D’s Papa. Not only the preparation, every Saturday he goes to Defence colony to get him his favorite GF bakery items including GF non veg momos, GF patties, GF chicken kathi roll and all the new things that are available in the shop. He is into a habit of getting at least one new item for him to try, every time he goes out. Reading the labels and the ingredients, he goes the available stuff. Then he emails the company for it confirmation on Gluten free. By this we now are aware of many things that are not labelled Gf but are safe to eat. While he is travelling abroad for his office works, he always has an eye on Gf stuff and brings as much as possible for him, including chocolates, biscuits, chips, waffy and items that can stay safe till he comes back. Along with his hot wheels track every time he flies for his office work. Sometime D likes the food and sometimes only we have to eat those. But still this makes him happy and he feels that we are doing our best for him.

When we all go out for dinning in a safe zone, K eats with D only. The food we order is the GF food. And K finishes it with him, while my daughter and I enjoy the gluten onesJ. He always spend more time explaining him the good of gluten free and the positive effects it creates on his body. K in a months or so goes for a week’s GF Diet with D, so as to make him feel satisfied and good for his health too.

When everyone in the family is involved the raising of the special child is much better. So we all are trying our best to make it easy for him. We all support him and show him the best of care, with his Papa satisfying his Non-Veg cravings.

  2. Fathers are doting too for their child as their mums. It is just that we always look for mothers as the bonding factor between kids.
Good to see papa making delicious dishes for his child.
